About
From photograph to print
I’ve recently started printmaking using my photographs as inspiration for creating images. This is rewarding in a different way, rather than pressing the shutter and capturing a split second in time I become fully immersed in carving the moment onto a block of wood or lino, or etching it on a plate. I like to mix different techniques such as linocut, woodgrain, screen printing and gelli plate printing and using lino stamps to create a series of images which are each unique. I use readily available materials such as kitchen utensils and ingredients and I use found objects such as off cuts of wood, old music scores or plants from the garden.
